Your donated bikes and other PTVs will be saved from landfill and redeployed or recycled helping us to support a circular economy while creating jobs for disadvantaged people – and creating free fun for kids in need through our bike equity program.

So if you`re keen to join - book today!

This practical course will equip you with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to regularly check and tune your bike. By the end of the workshop, you`ll be able to:

Perform a basic bike service, including checking brakes, tire pressure, and chains.

Ensure your bike is safe to ride.

Prevent damage to your bike and save money on repairs.

Feel more confident in taking care of your bike.

Participants are encouraged to bring their own bikes.

Every year in NSW, some 100,000 bikes are no longer used or wanted by their ride, but supply chain partnership between Revolve ReCYCLING and Sims Metal Australia is ensuring that a growing number are being recycled.

Revolve ReCYCLING collects used and unwanted bikes from households, drop-off sites and local government-led events across the Sydney metropolitan area.

At Revolve ReCYCLING’s Alexandria facility, those bikes – more than 11,000 so far – are triaged by expert bike mechanics on which bikes can be refurbished and redeployed and which bikes need to be recycled.

Recyclable bikes are then locally transported to SIMS Metal @simsmmw in Alexandria, Australia’s largest metal recycler, who provide Revolve ReCYCLING, a social enterprise, with priority service and pricing as part of their own commitment to sustainability.

Sims Metal then smelts the aluminium and steel in bike frames into ingots that are used in producing new metal-based products.

“Sims Metal has supported us since Day 1 and helped us boost the number of bikes that we can collect and divert from landfill. We are very grateful to SIMS metal for the corporate social responsibility that they show in such a practical way,” Guido Verbist, General Manager of Revolve ReCYCLING said.

Booking a $7 collection with us is more beneficial than paying a $10 tip fee and disposing of the bike at the tip!

Speaking at the recent NSW Parliament Inquiry into e-scooters, e-bikes, and micro-mobility solutions, Guido Verbist, Revolve ReCYCLING’s leader, highlighted a growing issue: the risks associated with substandard e-bike and e-scooter batteries.

Since 2021, Revolve Recycling has diverted over 10,000 bikes from landfill, redeploying or recycling thousands more. However, with the surge in e-bikes and e-scooters, irresponsible battery disposal has created new safety concerns.

Through our Green Wheels program and in partnership with the NSW EPA, we’re already working with bike shops to safely recycle bike materials. Now, we’re proposing a comprehensive battery recycling program to ensure the responsible storage, transport, and disposal of e-bike batteries. This program would create a safer pathway for battery disposal, while educating consumers and businesses on sustainable practices.
